Under 8 Football Complete for 2010

The final Lynco Under 8 Go Games football blitz took place in Owenbeg on Sunday 5th September. 600 children took part in blustery conditions but everyone had a good time and the displays of skill on show were excellent.
Thanks to all the young players for taking part throughout the year, their coaches for spending so much time with the players developing them at training and during the games and to the mummy's and daddy's for being a taxi service and laundrette throughout the year!

Lynco Under 8 Go Games Football

Tonight 500 children took part in an Under 8 football blitz sponsored by Lynco. The pitches were slightly longer than normal and there were no goal keepers to encourage the kick pass and kicking points and there were some fine examples of both on show! Thank you to all the teams for taking part and those who helped with the refereeing, it was a tremendous night of football under the floodlights.

The next and final Under 8 Go Games football blitz will take place on Sunday 5th September at Owenbeg 10.30am. Hopefully every team in the County can make it for that one. I’ve attached some action shots from tonight

On Saturday the 24th April Derry had our first Go Games blitz in Owenbeg. Over 400 children from 13 clubs (9 Derry) took part in blitzes for under 8, under 10 and under 12 hurlers. Many thanks to all the parents and coaches who helped to make the day a huge success. A special mention must go to the Roe Valley O’Cahans who took part in their first ever hurling blitz. They entered 2 teams at under- 8 level and 1 at under- 10 (Pictured Above).
