Derry Hurling Wall Ball 2010 sponsored by Club Derry
On Good Friday evening the first ever 'Club Derry' hurling wall ball county finals were held in Dungiven Sports Pavilion. The game is based around a combination of rules from handball and racket ball. Each club ran out their own internal competition, for under 14 hurlers, to establish who would represent their club at the county final event. 7 out of the 8 hurling clubs participated in what proved to be a very worthwhile evenings hurling, where all the players displayed a high level of skill. Cormac O Doherty from Slaughtneil ran out as a worthy winner beating Jason McBreaty from Na Magha in the final match. This was the first year of what will hopefully become an annual fixture in the Derry hurling calendar and overall it proved to be a most worthwhile programme. Many thanks to all the players, parents, managers and clubs who helped make the competition a success and to Club Derry for sponsoring the prizes and each participant a water bottle.
