Derry Under 12 Football Skills Test 2010

This year Club Derry sponsored the County Under 12 Football skills test that took place in Owenbeg on Monday 28th June. 23 young hopeful's took part in the County Finals. The skills test challenged the players punt kick accuracy off both feet, the pick up and solo with both feet, hand pass accuracy, scoring and speed.

In third place finished Sean Butcher from Drumsurn, joint second were Conor Magee and Brian Cassidy from Slaughtmanus and Slaughtneil respectively and this years winner was Cormac McCartney from Dungiven with a very impressive score of 83. The players all received a football and Club Derry water bottle. Cormac also was presented with a limited edition Club Derry Jersey

Well done to everyone who took part, the skill levels especially off the less favoured side was very good!

Under 12 Hurling Skills Test Sponsored by Sportsworld and Club Derry

On Tuesday 1st September we held our Under 12 Hurling Skills test in Owenbeg. The winner was Corey Reilly from Kevin Lynch's with 180 points.

Corey will receive a Derry tracksuit sponsored by Sports World Magherafelt. The four runners up were Ciaran Steele Kevin Lynch's (150), Eoin McGonigle Kevin Lynchs (150), Connor McCrystal Lavey (140) and Eoin Gilmore Ballinascreen (150). All five boys recieved a T-Shirt sponsored by Club Derry. They will now represent Derry at the Ulster Under 12 Skills competition on Saturday 12th September 10.30am in Mid Ulster Sports Arena, Cookstown. Good luck lads.

On Monday night we held our Under 12 Football Skills test in Owenbeg. 40 young footballers took part. The winner was Frank Dillon from Dungiven with 130 points. Frank will receive a Derry tracksuit sponsored by Sports World Magherafelt.

The four runners up were Declan McCusker Glen - 120 pts, Niall Brown Coleraine - 120 pts, Paul Tohill Greenlough - 115 pts and Eoin Devlin Ballinderry 110 pts. All five boys recieved a T-Shirt sponsored by Club Derry. They will now represent Derry at the Ulster Under 12 Skills competition on Saturday 12th September 10.30am in Mid Ulster Sports Arena, Cookstown. Good luck lads.
