St. Mary's Magherafelt Foundation Coaching Award
On Tuesday 8th December twenty 6th form students from St. Mary's Magherafelt continued with their foundation coaching award. Richard Ferris delivered a number of classroom based workshops with the students in the morning.

Followed by some work in the gym going through the various stages and activities of the GAA Fundamentals. The new coaches worked extremely hard throughout the day and applied themselves really well. The final stage of their foundation award will be to do a practical session with some children from the local primary school. The coaches will be assessed and given feedback and personal improvement goals. Well done to all involved.

Coaching Courses held this week
On Tuesday night 36 boys from Bellaghy Under 12 panel were put through a coaching session entitled 'Conditioned Games for Kids' delivered by Magherafelt GPO Diarmuid Scullion. This was part of Derry's coach education programme and 45 coaches turned up to observe. Feedback from the coaches has been very positive. Thank you to Limavady GPO Richard Ferris, and Bellaghy club coaches Sean Mc Erlean, Raymond Craig and Martin Mc Faul as well as to the boys who took part in the session.
On Friday and Saturday 18 coaches completed their child protection and foundation football awards held at Foreglen GAC. Chris Brown led the child protection course and Chris Collins delivered the foundation football. The coaches came from clubs right across the County and will no doubt be helping out with underage teams in their clubs next year. Thanks to Foreglen GAC for hosting the course in their superb new facility.
