Under 10 Go Games Football

On Saturday a number of Go Games blitz's for Under 10's took place across South Derry and in Derry City. All blitzes were outside due to the good weather. The standard was very high with some great displays of point taking, blocking, passing and fielding. Some photo's are attached.

Under 10 Go Games Football

Photos are attached from this weeks under 10 go-games. Lavey hosted Magherafelt, whilst Ballinascreen hosted Desertmartin and Swatragh. Bellaghy are hosting Glen and Castledawson tomorrow. The standard of football was very high.

Moneymore Rec host Primary 5 Gaelic Football Blitz

On Friday Colm Dillon and Dairmuid Scullion organised a Primary 5 Gaelic Football blitz for the primary schools in and around the moneymore area, competing team were st Patricks Loup, St Patricks Moneymoe, Lissan PS and St. Malachy's Drummullan. Everyone who took part had a very enjoyable day.

Primary 5 Gaelic Football Blitz at Swatragh

Attached photos from today's Primary school blitz in Swatragh. Competing schools were St Johns Swatragh, St Marys Glenview, St Patricks Glen and St Brigids Tirkane. A big thanks to Sean McWilliams for for use of the GAA hall at such short notice due to the rain.

Primary 5 Gaelic Football

Attached photos from Tuesday's P5 blitz in the Backrow hall, Draperstown. Competing schools were St Marys Draperstown, St Columbs Straw, St Eoghans Moneyneena, Altayeskey, and also st Columbs Cullion. Thanks to Diarmuid Scullion for organising the event, Colm Dillon for helping with the refereeing and to Ciaran Meenagh for the use of the hall.

Primary 5 Indoor Go Games Football

Today was the first of this weeks P5 indoor boys blitzes. Anahorish, St John Bosco Ballynease and St Marys Bellaghy took part and had a very enjoyable mornings football. Thanks to Bellaghy GAA club for the use of their hall.

Oak Leaf School of Excellence

On Wednesday 21st July 26 hardy souls attended the extremely wet Oak Leaf School of Excellence delivered by Chris Collins, Richard Ferris and Diarmuid Scullion. The lads worked on Kicking and Tackling and played small sided games to compliment these skills.

Thanks to all the coaches and players for taking part in such extreme conditions, the next Oak Leaf School of Excellence will be Wednesday 28th July @ Owenbeg 4pm - 5.30pm.

Bellaghy and Ballymaguigan Gaelic Start Monday

Yesterday both Ballymaguigan and Bellaghy enjoyed their Gaelic Start Monday, aimed at getting children aged below 6 a day of fun coaching. Thanks to Ruairi Convery and Brian Laverty for providing the kids with lots of fun activities

Summer Camps begin but where's the Sun?

From Féile straight into the summer camps on Monday morning, who said this coaching lark was handy? Castledawson, Glen and Greenlough all began their summer programme with a Gaelic Start camp for children up to the age of 6 years old. The three camps proved to be very successful with the weins really enjoying getting out on the grass and getting wet!

Holy Family GAA Fun Day

On Tuesday 22nd June Holy Family Primary School Magherafelt held a GAA Fun Day in support of the Oak Leaf Cycle Slam.
Coaches from Derry County Board and Magherafelt Rossa's assisted the school with the coaching and games for all the children. Everyone had a brilliant day in the sun!

Vhi Cul Camp Summer Coaching

Last night 36 coaches took part in the Vhi Cul Camp Coaches training evening. Chris Collins briefed the coaches with a power point presentation before Richard Ferris, Paul Simpson and Diarmuid Scullion put them through a practical session out on the grass that will be useful to them when they are out in the camps which begin the first week of July
