North Derry Primary School Camogie Championship

On Friday is a very warm Owenbeg, the North Derry Primary School Camogie championship took place. St. Canice Dungiven won the 7 aside competition and St. Mary's Gortnaghey lifted the 5 aside trophy. Well done to everyone who took place.

Year 8 Vocational School's Football and Camogie Blitz

On Monday the vocational schools had their year 8 football and camogie blitz's at Owenbeg, the event was extremely well attend with 16 teams taking part in the football and 5 in the camogie competition.

St. Paul's Kilrea and St. Patrick's & St. Brigid's Claudy competed in the A final with St. Paul's coming out on top

The B Final was an all city affair with St. Brigid's Carnhill beating Oakgrove Integrated in a very good final.

North Derry Primary School Boys Football and Camogie League

On Thursday 14th June Derry GAA organised their North Derry Primary School League blitz for Boys football and Camogie. 20 teams took part in the day of games at Owenbeg.

The 9 aside football was won by St. Canice's Dungiven, 7 aside football went to St. John's Dernaflaw and the 5 aside to Ballykelly P.S.

North Derry Primary School Camogie Blitz

On Thursday 21st January the Derry Coaching and Games department organised and ran a very successful primary school indoor Camogie blitz @ Roe Valley Leisure Centre. 16 teams took part in the blitz, over 80 girls in total. Thanks to Richard Ferris for the smooth running of the day, the teachers for supervising the girls and Limavady district council for the use of their facilities.

North Derry Primary School Hurling and Camogie Championship

Today concluded the North Derry Primary School GAA Blitz Programme for 2009. The schools came to Owenbeg to take part in their hurling and camogie championship. Kevin Hinphey assisted by Osisin Moran, Michael Kerr and Ciaran Moore (3 young lads who had the sheer delight of spending work placement with us for a week) ensured the days festivities went off without a hitch.

Well done to everyone who took part and thanks to their teachers for all the work they have put in outside of the classroom in 2008/9.

I.N.T.O. Primary School 7's

The camogie and boys football I.N.T.O. seven's took part in Glen on Thursday 21st May. The competition as always was very well attended.

North Derry Primary School's Hurling and Camogie League 2009 @ Owenbeg 22.04.09

Adapting Fun Games for Hurling - Wednesday 25th March @ Owenbeg 7.30pm

Practical outdoor Session with Kevin Kelly.
The course will include games to enhance the skills required to play Hurling and Camogie and idea's on how to keep every player involved during your session. Kevin will be working with the County Minor Squad. All club coaches are welcome to attend this course. The games used can be adapted to suit players from 12 years old up.

2 School Titles in a Week

Well done to St. Pius's and St. Colm's Draperstown on their history making acheivements over the past week. It's great to see our schools competing at every code and every level.

Good luck to St. Paul's Kilrea with their All - Ireland Final tomorrow and St. Pat's Camog's in their hunt for silverware.

The Cumann na mBunscoil indoor competition took place today in Meadowbank Sports Arena, Magherafelt 15 Camogie and 18 Football teams took part. Each school could bring 8 players, we had 260 players taking part so it was an excellent turn out.
